Crin Antonescu, the candidate of the “România Înainte” Alliance for the presidency, expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from the PSD (Social Democratic Party) during a press conference held in Cluj on Saturday. He described this backing as “impeccable,” highlighting the consistent and strong public support from PSD’s leadership, including President Marcel Ciolacu. During his remarks, Antonescu emphasized the significance of alliances and expressed pride in having Professor Dîncu by his side, considering him emblematic of the PSD’s values and unique contribution to his campaign. He presented himself as a frontrunner in the presidential race, confidently asserting that he is the only candidate assured of reaching the second round of the elections. Antonescu indicated that apart from himself, no other contender can be sure of progressing to this crucial stage, referring primarily to his main opponent in the election.

The event in Cluj-Napoca attracted a substantial crowd, estimated by organizers to number around 20,000 participants from across the Transylvanian counties, showcasing a vibrant display of support for Antonescu’s candidacy.

In summary, Crin Antonescu’s campaign appears to be bolstered by strong backing from the PSD, highlighted by ongoing public statements of support from party leadership.
