Germania avertizează Israelul cu acțiuni din cauza situației „intolerabile” din Gaza.

The German Foreign Minister has issued a warning regarding potential measures against Israel, stating that Germany will not export weapons that could be used to violate humanitarian law, as reported by Reuters. This marks a significant shift in Germany’s stance, which has traditionally been supportive of Israel, particularly in alliance with the United States.

Israel is facing growing international isolation, and this development comes amid a broader reevaluation of the European Union’s policy toward Israel. Other nations, including the UK, France, and Canada, have also threatened to take “concrete measures” in response to the conflict in Gaza.

Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized that Germany’s historical support for Israel should not be exploited, especially in light of severe airstrikes and shortages of food and medicine that have rendered the situation in Gaza “unbearable.” Prior to this, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz had criticized the airstrikes on Gaza, stating they are no longer justified in the context of combatting Hamas and are “incomprehensible.”

This shift in policy reflects a growing concern among European leaders about Israel’s military actions and humanitarian implications, signaling a potential realignment in international relations surrounding the ongoing conflict.
