The project "Portul popular – noi valenţe şi sursă de inspiraţie" exemplifies a unique opportunity to creatively utilize part of Romania’s material heritage, specifically traditional costumes, as a source of inspiration for 14 fashion designers—both established and emerging. These designers have frequently incorporated various traditional motifs into their creations.

Over approximately seven months starting in early 2025, each artist will develop unique outfits based on traditional garments held in the collection of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania in Cluj-Napoca.

Unique Aspects of the Project:

1. First-time Collaboration: This is the inaugural instance where Romanian designers engage in a project aimed at revitalizing a heritage object.

8. Diana Anamaria Lazăr: Founder of the Rajkumari brand, her designs draw inspiration both from real-life observations and from museum exhibits, merging old-world charm with recycling practices.

9. Cristina Lazăr: An academic and designer with experience presenting her collections at various national events, showcasing her expertise in contemporary fashion design.

10. Luciana Matei: With 25 years of industry experience, she designs for a diverse clientele and has a notable history of creating outfits blending old and new styles.

11. Zsolt Popa: Known for his powerful collections that mix traditional and modern elements, Zsolt incorporates elaborate details into structured designs.

12. Roberta Ritter: A graduate specializing in both ambient and fashion design, she has collaborated with artists to create costumes integrating Romanian folk symbolism.
