The Bucharest Half Marathon has successfully raised over €65,000 for the construction of a new pediatric palliative care hospital, supported by sponsors, donors, and over 1,100 runners who dedicated their efforts to this cause. The funds will help build a facility in Adunații Copăceni, where the existing Hospice Casa Speranței already provides care for terminally ill children.
The event exemplified collective strength and hope, with CEO Mirela Nemțanu emphasizing the power of community support in making a significant impact. She expressed gratitude to the participants, partners, donors, and volunteers, highlighting the marathon’s role in uniting people around a shared goal.
Notable attendees included Giles Portman, the British Ambassador to Romania, and Rebecca Shah, the Vice Ambassador, who both participated in the 10-kilometer race, showcasing international support for the initiative.
