On April 3, 2025, at 6:30 PM, a conference titled “Bucureștiul pierdut – clădiri, povești și amintiri” (Lost Bucharest – buildings, stories, and memories) will take place at Palatul Suțu. This event will feature Ovidiu Neacșu, a passionate urban explorer and expert in architecture, who will delve into the forgotten and abandoned buildings of Bucharest.
Neacșu will share captivating stories and information about various buildings that have slipped into obscurity over the years, some of which are lost forever due to collapse or demolition. However, there are others that still stand, holding onto the hopes of a new beginning. This conference promises to be an enlightening experience for those interested in the city’s architectural heritage.
Ovidiu Neacșu is also the founder of the platform “Bucureștiul Povestit,” which aims to highlight and revive the histories of Bucharest’s architectural treasures, particularly from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. His work emphasizes the importance of preserving historical architecture and the stories tied to these structures.
The event is coordinated by conf. univ. dr. Cătălin D. Constantin. Tickets are priced at 10 lei, providing an opportunity for attendees to engage with Bucharest’s rich history through the lens of its architectural narrative.
