On May 17, 2025, Casa Filipescu Cesianu hosted the launch of “Antropologie și Morfologie în studiul fizionomiei urbane,” authored by historian and anthropologist Adrian Majuru, who is also the manager of the Bucharest Municipality Museum.
Majuru described the book as a narrative of intimacy and an exploration of generational relationships within the Romanian urban environment over the past three centuries, using Bucharest as a case study. The launch event gathered significant figures from research and academia, including Cristina Glavce, Marin Constantin, Cătălin D. Constantin, Octavian Buda, and Sorin Antohi, who contributed to discussions surrounding the work.
The book presents a fresh perspective on the memory of faces and urban spaces, grounded in the heritage of the Bucharest Municipality Museum. Cătălin D. Constantin, who moderated the launch, emphasized that this volume is a continuation of the “Muzeul Vârstelor” exhibition project opened a decade ago at the same venue—a project that intertwines narrative and imagery to present a cohesive story.
Additionally, the book invites readers to engage with their urban surroundings in a deeper way, fostering a renewed appreciation for both the museum’s exhibits and the physical cityscape.
