The focal point of this upcoming event is a presentation titled "Represiunea în Brăila anilor 1980," which will be delivered by Oana Demetriade, a senior advisor at the CNSAS Research, Exhibitions, and Publications Directorate. The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, starting at 3 PM, and will take place at ARCUB – Casa Eliad in Bucharest. The discussion will underscore the repressive policies of the communist regime in Brăila during the 1980s.
Special guests invited for this event include:
- Adriana Sandu, a prominent opponent of the communist regime.
- Lect. Dr. Daniela Popescu, from the History Faculty of the University of Bucharest.
- Ion M. Ioniță, editor-in-chief of the magazine Historia.
CNSAS aims to promote academic discussions through this initiative, contributing to a deeper understanding of the historical context surrounding secret services and their impact on Romanian society. The organization seeks to facilitate constructive dialogue and enhance knowledge about Romania’s past, especially in relation to its intelligence services and political repression.
